Hire Terms
A plain-English summary of Viva's monthly hire. Your quote and signed rental agreement contain the full terms for your vehicle.
Your quote and signed rental agreement contain the complete terms and take priority if anything differs from this page.
1. Initial rental term
Choose a one-month or three-month initial contract from the options on your vehicle page. Hire continues monthly after the initial term. Your quote and signed agreement confirm the notice required to end your hire.
2. Payment and security deposit
Displayed prices exclude VAT and insurance. Weekly prices are monthly equivalents calculated as the monthly rental × 12 ÷ 52. Rental is billed per calendar month. All hires are subject to approval, availability and a signed agreement.
Rental is paid monthly in advance. The refundable security deposit is equal to one month's rental, calculated using the VAT-inclusive monthly amount. It is normally returned within 10 working days after the final inspection, less any agreed charges for damage, excess mileage, missing fuel, fines or other outstanding balances.
3. Mileage
Choose from the monthly mileage allowances shown for your vehicle. Your quote and rental agreement confirm the allowance and excess-mileage charge. Contact Viva if your expected mileage changes.
4. Your motor insurance
Viva does not provide motor insurance. Fully comprehensive cover for the hired vehicle and every approved driver must be in force and verified before the van is released. The policy must permit the agreed business or personal use and remain valid throughout the rental. The customer must tell Viva immediately if the cover changes or is cancelled.
5. Servicing, maintenance and breakdown
Your quote and hire agreement confirm the servicing, maintenance and breakdown support included and your responsibilities. Monitor warning lights and service messages, follow the vehicle instructions and speak to Viva before arranging work.
6. Tyres and day-to-day costs
Tyres and puncture repairs are not included. The customer is responsible for punctures, impact or kerb damage and replacement required because of abnormal or accelerated wear. Fuel, AdBlue and screenwash are also the customer's responsibility. Any defect documented as present at handover remains Viva's responsibility.
7. Notice and returning the vehicle
You may give notice during the initial term to return on its final day. Once a one- or three-month plan is rolling, 14 calendar days' notice applies and any final part-month is charged pro rata. The van must be returned with all keys and equipment, at the agreed fuel level and in a condition consistent with the return standard supplied at handover. Damage outside that standard may be charged.
